ISUZU Ute A-League Mens 2024/25 Player Feedback - Mitre Ultimax Pro

Mitre Sports Australia caught up with some of the stars of the ISUZU Ute A-League Mens competition before the 2024/25 season got underway, to hear their thoughts on the Mitre Ultimax Pro A-Leagues, the Official Match Football of the 2024/25 A-Leagues season.

Alex Rufer, Captain and Defensive Midfielder for Wellington Phoenix:

"Really finding that the performance of the new Mitre ball is really good. The boys really enjoyed them in training, and you can hit them really hard... so it's been really good so far."

"They've been really reliable. You know, there's been no problem so far. And, like I say, the boys really enjoy using it and looking forward to seeing them (used) soon. Yeah, really looking forward to using the new balls, I think it's gonna really help us in the way to want to play."

Ryan Teague, Defensive Midfielder for Melbourne Victory:

"Yeah, I like the new Mitre ball, especially as a midfielder, it feels easy to control. It feels like there's real cushion around the ball. And that when the ball comes down, I’m able to bring it down a lot easier."

"And with also distributing and passing you’re able to go further than some of the other balls I've kicked as well. So it's really helped me with my game and be able to get my touch and passing on point."

Zach Clough, Attacker for Adelaide United:

"I’m loving it, I’ve played with in the (Australia) cup, it's really good. It's very good for attacking players. I feel sorry for the keepers, because once we strike these balls, they do fly through the air."

"...from growing up, from being so small - Mitre, it was always one of the biggest ball producers in England... my first year in the Championship in England was with Mitre."

"Yeah for sure (the season) it's going to be exciting with the ball... and I'm looking forward to seeing some bombs scored from 30 yards, because I'm sure a lot a going to come."

Jay O'Shea, Captain and Attacking Midfielder for Brisbane Roar:

"...I think it's been really good. We've trained with it for a few weeks now, and I think if you catch it sweet, it really travels well. I think it's going to be some good long range goals for this season."

"...in the Football League, I've always used Mitre, when I played in England. And so I think I scored the majority of my goals in my career with Mitre so hopefully it's going to bring me some luck this year!"

Nikola Mileusnic, Attacking Winger for Perth Glory:

"...I feel like it's first of all, a nice deisgn, it captures the A-League well into the ball... it's quite nice to train with, especially since we've played with it a little bit in the FFA (now Australia) Cup, with these balls, and have had quite a bit of success. So I'm looking forward to using in the A-Leagues this season."
